A couple quick notes on Drug testing issues.Lt Butwid from Sturgeon Bay MSD is stopping in at our Milwaukee Class at 9 am on Friday Sept 18th at Performance yacht Service 520 S Waters Street. He is going to talk about the requirements and issues related to serious marine incidents and other aspects of the drug requirements. I know this is short notice. I will take good notes and send them out after the class. If you can make it, let me know.One issue that did come up several weeks ago for one of the captains was the requirement to take a test within 32 hr over a weekend. IF YOUR CONSORTUM can not do testing over the weekend, you have a major problem. If order to take a test, it must be done within 32 hrs. You need to find a place who can do the proper test i.e. chain of custody etc. If not, you may be facing a significant fine.Please check with your employer or if self-employed with whomever you have your drug program on weekend testing. I know Quest Labs does it but only at selected site. This may require a drive.More to follow.Capt Gary
