Well October has been both a busy and an interesting month.

First, if anyone is interested in the Fish Creek, WI OUPV held on December 3rd-6th and 10th- 13th with the Master's Upgrade December 18th-20th now is the time to sign up.

We completed the OUPV class in Evergreen Park, IL with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and a number of others interested in getting a license.

It was a great group to work with, lots of good questions and comments which makes the class worth the trip.

At the end of course the USCG Auxiliary presented Captain Gary Kulibert with a Certificate of Appreciation. It was an honor to work with the group and a lot of fun. But in the end they still had to work hard to pass the exams.

There is a big change coming in January. The NMC has formalized the new Physical Exam process for a license. It includes Body Mass index to name just a few of the changes. If you have an application ready to go, do it now. Do not wait until after the first of the year.

The new guidance and forms are posted on their website at http://www.uscg.mil/nmc/default.asp

Toni is off to NMC for training on how to reviewing applications and send them directly to the NMC. More on this next month.

I am off to St Paul to teach a OUPV course over the next two weekends then a little break.

Take care

Fair winds and calm sea

Gary
