Three reasons why you need this license.

If you oporate any of the following vessel you are required by the FCC and USCG to have a MP
- All vessels with a length of 65 feet or more
- All inspected vessels carrying passengers for hire including the Great Lakes
- All vessels subject to the Radiotelephone Act
- All towing vessels 26 feet and over
- All vessels going to ports in other countries
If you have your Merchant Mariners and Marine Radio Operator license you have a better chance of getting a maritime job as you have the needed license to perform more jobs on a vessel.
Should you have an emergency on your boat, do you know how to reach help with digital select calling (DSC)? It is a simple process if you know how to use a radio. Is your boat and friends and family worth it?
Course fee including first exam is $125; FCC exam only anytime at our office $50; $20 if retake is needed that day.

FCC Exam
We give the FCC exam for MP at the end of the class. It is includes in the course fee. There are 24 questions of which you must get at least 18 correct. Should you fail, you can take the second exam that day for $20. If you schedule another day it is $50.
If you are interested in just taking the exam, you can schedule that at our office any day we are open for $50. |
