Class Fee: $695 Inland, Great Lakes, Near Coastal. Includes all instruction, course materials (student manuals, plotting tools, charts, Rules book) and exams.

Location: Explorers Guide Maritime Academy at our new office at 611 N. Lynndale Ave, Suite 125, Grand Chute, WI 54914. East of I-41 on College Ave., then north on Lynndale, across from Grainger. Use the back entrance. We are on the first floor.
Hours: This is a 52 hr class over two weekends. Classes run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 8 am to 5 pm for 2 consecutive weekends. Final exams given on last Sunday. Come prepared to spend time on the class as we need to cover all the materials.
Topics: Captain Gary will cover Piloting, Marlinspike Seamanship, Navigation Rules, Magnetic Compass, Characteristics of Weather, Tides and Currents, Vessel Maneuvering and Handling, Small Engine Operations and Maintenance, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Emergency Procedures, Maritime Law, Shipboard Management and Training, Ship’s Business, Communications, and Lifesaving Appliances
Master Classes startes the following weekend on March 27/28/29. This in clude the Inalnd and Great Lakes master upgrade, Near Coastal Master Upgrade and change in scope from Great Lakes to Near Coastal class.
This is a combined class, including Upgrade To Master 100 Ton Inland, Great Lakes; Upgrade To Master 100 Tons Near Coastal; and Increase in Scope from Inland to Near Coastal Routes. We are able to offer all three courses at the same time as a number of lessons overlap. Friday evening and early Saturday are for the Increase in Scope and Near Coastal. The rest of the lessons are for both Inland/Great Lakes and Near Coastal Waters.
Captain Gary will also answer any questions you have about your license application, so bring your documents with you on the first day of class.
